Hi!

My name is Ashtom and I produce synthetic music to tell stories.

Born with the bleeps of gaming console, raised by the rhythm of big beat and drum & bass and surrounded by the electronic sounds of Jean-Michel Jarre and others, I found my first big musical space in chiptunes, trying to tame the restrictions of the medium to produce sonorities and melodies beyond the idea of videogame music while keeping its narrative power.

Still influenced by many electronic styles (Boards Of Canada, Telefon Tel Aviv, Jon Hopkins amongst others), I then shifted to a richer palette to produce soundscapes that tell stories.

For the past few years, I've been dabbling into (dark) ambient music, and focusing on sounds and textures to create a space that we can explore with our mind. I really enjoy making this introspective and meditative music. It's a great way for me to relax, reflect and restore my sanity. I hope that it can do the same to you!

A lot of my music is also inspired by outer space and the idea of travelling long distance through star systems. Sometimes it may sound mysterious and inviting and sometimes it can sound dark and oppressive.
